Mintage: 2001

Estimated Value: 13.70

The 2002 Commonwealth Games were held in Manchester from July 25th to August 4th in 2002 and was the largest multi-sport event to be held in England prior to the 2012 Olympics in London.

The designer of this coin was Matthew Bonaccorsi, who created an image of a figure holding a banner which splits into the lanes of a swimming pool on the reverse of the coin. As per usual, the obverse of the coin contains the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

There are four versions of this coin, for each country in the United Kingdom- England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. As a set, the four coins can be expected to bring in around £70 on eBay.
