Brexit was initially voted for in 2016 and was supposed to take place in in March of 2019 but was delayed due to negotiations taking longer than anticipated.

The Brexit 50p coin features a design by Sajid David who was Chancellor of the Exchequer when the coin was released with the inscription ‘Peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations’ as the main design with the date of Brexit – 31 January 2020 – towards the bottom.
